I conducted a side-by-side comparison between the Fahren H7 and Auxito H7 LED bulbs in my 2006 Mercedes’ projector headlamp. The Fahren features a single row of 4 diodes per side, while the Auxito has two rows of 4 diodes. Fahren claims “900%” brightness and 30,000lm, whereas Auxito advertises “500%”. I also tested them against my previous “20,000lm” Hikari bulbs from 2022, which I replaced due to random intermittent failures.
The Auxito showed no noticeable dimness compared to the Hikari when measured with a light meter at fixed distance. Against the Fahren, the Auxito’s peak brightness was marginally higher (about 10%), though likely insignificant. Measuring average brightness across an area proved challenging, but neither light meter readings nor subjective observation revealed meaningful differences. Despite Fahren’s “900%” versus Auxito’s “500%” claims (which appear meaningless), brightness differences were negligible – crucially, the Auxito wasn’t dimmer.
The deciding factor was beam pattern quality: Fahren produced poorer light distribution and fuzzier cutoff lines in my projectors. Contrary to my expectation that Auxito’s two-row design might perform worse than Fahren’s single-row configuration, the opposite proved true.
