We own two adult-sized electric scooters. The other model is nicer but similarly priced. This scooter has clunkier controls, cheaper-feeling plastics and rubber, and the foot pad arrived with a large slash. Assembly was extremely easy – just remove parts from the box and connect them, taking about 3 minutes. Functionally, it performs as expected, propelling you at high speeds.

Our old scooter was quite slow, but the new one is impressively fast, reaching up to 19 mph while being speed-limited for safety. It performs well on both uphill and downhill rides. The handles feature a soft, rubbery grip for excellent control, and the acceleration is responsive and smooth. The build quality is sturdy for its price range, making it ideal for kids aged 10 and upmy 10- and 12-year-old sons take turns riding it around the neighborhood, often receiving compliments. Everyone finds it enjoyable, and the battery life is outstanding, requiring just one weekly charge with daily use. In our experience, the battery performance is more than sufficient. Wed rate it a perfect 10/10were extremely satisfied with this scooter.

I purchased this scooter directly from the W4MAX store. It was a great little scooter for my 9-year-old at first. After a few months, the battery stopped working, and the company sent a replacement which I installed myself (no problem). Six months later (still under warranty), the frame SNAPPED IN TWO! Fortunately, my son wasn’t badly injured. When I contacted the manufacturer, they demanded $50 for a refurbished replacement. I don’t understand why I should pay for shipping. Buyer beware.

I adore my scooter! Assembly was super simple and I really appreciate that it came fully charged – I could ride immediately with my scooter-owning friends after putting it together. The only downside was the shipping delay, which I later understood was due to holiday season timing (ordered Dec 24, arrived Jan 2). Aside from that, this scooter is fantastic and I’d definitely recommend it to everyone!

I’m 6’3″ and have to bend a bit to reach the handles. It accelerates VERY slowly and even at maximum speed, it feels like it’s struggling.

The lights are amazing! The quality is excellent and I feel safe while riding. It’s easy to carry in and out, which I really appreciate since I use it for school. Overall, I’m extremely happy with this product and can confidently say you’ll love it too!
Stella Ward –
It can reach up to 17mph with adjustable speed mode. It features two lower speed settings for kids, which are easy to adjust. The whole scooter is lightweight and convenient to carry in the trunk, plus it folds and unfolds easily. It can connect to a phone to monitor speed, though this function is rarely used. Kids absolutely love it.
Rayden –
This time I got a larger scooter and I’m really pleased with it. It’s much more stable and faster compared to the smaller one I purchased before. I absolutely love it.

You can see my old review below. What I want to add is this – I’ve put insane mileage on both my W4MAX scooters, easily over 1000+ miles each. They’re still running fine, though the wheels are wearing out and will need replacement soon. Not sure what the expected service life is, but this mileage is crazy. During good weather months (April-June, September-October), I save about 120 miles weekly on my SUV.
I’m writing this because some 1-star reviews claim these scooters don’t last. While those experiences may be true, they must be exceptions. I wish these had odometers – I’ve been tracking rides with my Garmin GPS watch, recording 780 miles over the past 7 weeks between both scooters (I weigh 200 lbs).
Considering a new scooter but torn about pneumatic tires. The solid tires are hard but eliminate flat worries. My town is resurfacing roads soon – currently, I ride mostly on smooth trails but have to navigate 1.25 miles of rough roads to reach them. This won’t be an issue much longer.
The W4MAX easily gets 15 miles per charge (not using comfort mode) and would likely approach the stated range. At 12mph it feels slow for commuting, but 19mph feels productive without being dangerously fast. Living in a hilly area, I avoid steep streets with limited visibility. The scooter maintains 13-15mph uphill and hits 20-21mph downhill – I pass most cyclists unless they’re really pushing hard.
Compared to biking, the W4MAX saves me about 17 minutes on my 10-mile trips. While air-filled tires might be more comfortable, I appreciate not worrying about flats – a friend in Brooklyn switched to solids after repeated punctures on his commute to Manhattan. The current W4MAX models are $100-150 cheaper now, and while I consider higher-end scooters, this one meets all my needs at half or a third the price.

I love that the battery truly delivers nearly 18 miles as advertised! Its lightweight design makes riding effortless and enjoyable. The front dual suspension ensures a smooth ride even on rough terrain, while the robust 350W motor handles hills with ease. Switching between 15.5MPH and 20MPH is perfect for varying conditions.
Charging in just 5.5 hours is convenient, and the electric code lock adds great security. The bright headlights enhance nighttime safety. The walk assist mode is a lifesaver if the battery dies, and the 1-year warranty provides reassurance. The UL2272 certification is another plus. This scooter is fantastic overall!

This electric scooter stands out as an excellent option for those prioritizing dependability and practicality. Its remarkable battery performance enables extended trips without constant recharging. A particularly useful aspect is the password-protected locking mechanism, providing enhanced security and user confidence. In summary, it’s a well-built scooter offering practical functions that simplify and secure daily transportation.
Violet Nelson –
This scooter is incredibly fun and simple to ride! It arrives mostly assembledjust attach the handlebars, and you’re ready to roll. It even folds up for easy storage or transport when not in use.
With a speed of 15-18 mph, its impressively fast. It glides smoothly on flat surfaces, though bumps can feel a bit jarring. The battery lasts around 10-15 miles per charge, which takes about 4-5 hours to recharge.
The brakes are reliable for quick stops, and the built-in lights enhance nighttime visibility. While its slightly heavy to carry, the sturdy construction ensures durability.
**Pros & Cons?**
? Easy assembly, fast, smooth ride, foldable, strong brakes
? Battery life could be better, struggles on rough terrain, somewhat heavy
**Update:** Features both headlight and taillight for night rides. Folds effortlessly and fits neatly in compact spaces.
LOVE this scooter! ??

I purchased two of these scooters and my kids absolutely adore them. They are simple to assemble and use. There was a problem with one scooter, but the customer service team was excellent and resolved it promptly!

Fantastic little firecracker! Absolutely love it! Cheers! Though I had to return the first one and now, after ordering again, everything seems fine except the standit arrived broken. Requesting a replacement, but unsure if they’ll send one. Fingers crossed they do!

This scooter works great for my college commute with sufficient range. It’s a solid budget-friendly option I’d recommend.
Benjamin Jones –
The scooter works well for a beginner like me, but the app’s features don’t function as advertisedyou can’t even log in after registering. The ride isn’t perfectly smooth, but it’s decent and has good speed. The battery life might not meet expectations, though that’s common with budget electric scooters.
Benjamin Cooper –
Extremely sturdy, unlike most scooters that quickly deteriorate, this one holds up! The app allows you to secure it, preventing theft. Excellent scooter overall with great customer service.

I own a Gotrax GXL scooter in my collection, which serves as a fun little toy for me and my kids. When I came across the W4MAX GXL, it looked strikingly similar to my Gotrax. After testing it, I suspect they might be manufactured by the same company. The only visible differences are the brand decals on the stem and plastic deck covers. During assembly, the W4MAX’s connectors appeared slightly sturdier, though this doesn’t affect performance. The W4MAX’s headlight button also seems more responsive. Beyond these minor points – speed, acceleration, range, and handling are identical between the two. Since I’m quite fond of my Gotrax, this makes the W4MAX an excellent entry-level scooter option.
