My previous HID Xenon headlights weren’t especially bright, though they outperformed the factory halogens. While HIDs are expensive, LEDs deliver superior results at a lower cost. The LEDs are significantly brighter with clearer light output compared to the muddy HIDs. However, they generate intense heat concentrated around the headlight area – unlike HIDs that disperse heat through ballasts. During winter it’s manageable, but I’m concerned about summer heat potentially damaging the housing.
Adjusting the headlight angle manually (since my car lacks interior controls) made a dramatic difference in light projection. Properly aligned, these LEDs illuminate street signs two blocks away even when dimmed – something my HIDs couldn’t achieve.
I’m deducting one star because the advertised 6500K color temperature appears closer to 5000K (pure white rather than bluish-white). Despite the color discrepancy, they’re exceptionally bright and practical for adverse weather. Installation is straightforward without additional components like ballasts.
