I used XenonDepot HID lights in my 2018 4Runner for four years and liked them, but when the driver’s side failed, I chose to replace the set. Instead of dealing with another HID installation, I found these LED bulbs as an alternative.
I installed them today and immediately liked them. They’re much simpler to install than HID kits—just plug and play. The LED driver fits neatly inside the 4Runner’s projector housing, sealing like OEM. The brightness matches the old HIDs, and no headlight adjustment was needed.
I hope they last as long as the HIDs did, but even if they fail, they’re cheaper and easier to replace—making this a clear choice. Only time will tell, but for now, I’d recommend these over the hassle of HIDs.
