Needed to replace burned-out instrument cluster bulbs and noticed a gear noise from the cluster. Didn’t know the 2002-2006 GM instrument cluster stepper motors were faulty and caused the noise. Ordered bulbs, stepper motors, and a soldering iron kit from Cougar. Everything was well-packaged and arrived the next day—still impresses me when that happens! The bulbs and new motors were easy to remove and resolder (the kit included proper solder). Found helpful disassembly and reassembly tips on YouTube. Recommend watching some before attempting to remove and repair your instrument cluster.
